KATHUA, Feb 5: The inhabitants of far-flung and remote villages of Bani have expressed grave concern over poor postal services in the area.
The residents of various villages including Dugan, Sarthal, Lohang etc have said that they don’t receive the mail in time and it is always delayed due to poor service in the area.
The residents of these localities said that the issue was taken by them to authorities of Department of Postal Servicers many times but to no avail. In an appeal to Post Master General J&K the residents of these localities have demanded that arrangements be made to send the mail through a bus or any other transport service from Basohli on daily basis so that the people receive the same in time. They said due to non availability of such service the important letters including the interviews or examination or interview call letters are delayed with the result the students or aspirants in various examinations miss the opportunities.
Mudasar Ali social activists of the area and Ram Kumar have renewed their appeal to Post Master General in this regard and urged him that steps be taken so that the mail from Basohli reaches Bani daily and its onwards distribution in far flung areas is not delayed.
