SURANKOTE, Aug 14: The long wait of Sanai- Chowana residents today came to an end when District Development Council (DDC) Member Surankote- A, Shahnawaz Choudhary along with AEE Surankote Vikas Bharadwaj and senior citizens of the area kick-started macadamization work on Lower Sanai Chowana to Upper Sanai Chowana road today.
On the occasion, residents expressed gratitude towards the DDC Member for fulfilling the long pending demand and said that a new chapter of development will begin with the macadamization of roads.
The DDC Member said that earlier the road was not macadamized and commuters had to face a lot of hardships, especially during rainy seasons when the road would become slippery and muddy. Students were particularly affected as they had to travel from this stretch to reach the school that now the road travel will become faster and safer in the area,” Shahnawaz said.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Sarpanch Waheed Shah, Haji Hafiz, Baji Noor Mohd, Faiz Akbar, Adv Sheraz Bajar, Adv Naseer Bhatti, Mudassar Ahmed and Ajaz Chouhan.
