3 injured as protection wall collapses

KISHTWAR, Aug 9: Three persons were injured after under construction protection wall along Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway collapsed near Mughal Maidan area here.
The injured persons were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain of Marh Chatroo, Ghulam Mohammad, son of Baksha of Marh Chatroo and Ishaq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain of Nayedgam.
The injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar, where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
Meanwhile, the locals alleged that sub standard material is being used for the construction of wall and other civil works of prestigious highway.
During initial investigation, it was found that the construction company SGIH Private Limited and the contractors were doing this work without proper safety measures and safety kits including helmets being provided to the labourers at work there by putting their life into danger which resulted the injury to three persons.
A case FIR Number 67/2022 under sections 336 and 337 IPC has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
