JAMMU, July 24: Agricultural technocrats today discussed their demands as well as other burning issues in their monthly meeting organized under the banner of J&K Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) at Exhibition Ground, Jammu.
The meeting presided over by JKATA president Dr Surinder Radotra discussed the issue of conduct of promotion of AEAs to JAEO and regularizing Incharge JAEO as confirmed JAEO (both regions). The issue of restoration of old pension schemes for its cadre was also discussed in the meeting.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Surinder Radotra said that on account of the fact that regularized AEAs were initially recruited in the year 2007 and completed 3 years of their service in the year 2010, they are entitled for grant of pension under the Old Pension Scheme in terms of provisions of amended SRO-400 dated 24-12-2009. “Therefore, we may be immediately shifted from the New Pension Scheme to the scheme of Old Pension. Similar benefits were given to the teachers recruited under the Rehbar-e-Taleem Scheme,” he added.
Dr Radotra demanded immediate restoration of old pension scheme with effect from 1st April, 2007. Further it was strongly demanded to include period of seven years of REZ as period of regular service on the analogy of ReTs (Rehbar-e-Taleem) who have already been benefited. “Since these agriculture technocrats are on the wrong side of age factor (maximum candidates have already crossed 45 years of age) and length of their service left is very less, hence, to secure their future the inclusion of our 7, 8 & 9 years of service as REZ should be considered,” he asserted.
He also urged the authorities to prepare a common seniority list at UT Level, as per regularized/date of confirmation as a AEA 2014, 2015, 2016, and notified in a time bound manner for the purposes of promoting JAEOs to the post of AEOs.
