JAMMU, Sept 15: President, J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu Wing), Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, today called Minister for Higher Education, Mohd Akbar Lone and stressed for the College Teachers demand of parity in superannuation age with the University teachers of the State as per UGC guidelines.
He also emphasized on retrospective placements of teachers in senior/selection scale from their actual due date by taking into consideration the UGC notification of completion of orientation and refresher courses up to December 31,2013.
Processing of pending placement cases of teachers in next higher grade on priority basis, creation of professors posts in Colleges and framing of career advancement rules were also brought to the notice of the Minister.
Earlier, president CTA, led a delegation of College teachers to Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Minister of State for Higher Education and Finance & Planning and urged him to intervene as MoS Finance to extend the benefit of SRO 222 to College Teachers, on the pattern of other State Government University employees. The demand of parity in retirement age and other issues were also taken up with the Minister.
The delegation comprised of Dr Satesh Bhan (general secretary), Prof RS Jamwal, Dr BK Gandhotra, Dr Neeraj Gupta and others.
