JAMMU, Sept 15: Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha (PVS) organized a function to honour the meritorious students and social workers at its headquarters Gurha Bakshi Nagar, here today on the eve of Vishwakarma Pooja Divas Celebrations.
President, Akhil Bhartiya Vishwakarma Mahasabha (ABVM), New Delhi, Shedi Lal Sharma Vishwakarma, was the chief guest while vice-chairman, OBC Advisory Board, Kuldeep Verma, was the guest of honour.
A large chunk of Vishwakarma people including women and children from all over the Jammu province attended the programme.
A total of 110 students were honoured including MBBS students Tamann Salgotra and Shikha Gandhi, BDS student Ishan Norma, Ankit Verma, Google Ambassador 2013-14, Sagar Vishwakarma, 1st position Holder in Class 10th (from Nowshera), Anil Salgotra, LLM. Each of the honoured were issued certificate of excellence along with a memento while some were honoured with medals.
Sports persons, Sanjeev Dhiman and Ashwani Jaral, renowned Dogri poet, Rattan Bhardwaj, Sandeep Verma and social workers, Ram Lal and Prithvi Khokhar were also honoured.
The welcome address was presented by Balwant Kataria, who also conducted the proceedings of the event.
Jagir Chand, Chief Editor of the magazine ‘Vishwakarma Sangh’ from Faridabad, Balbir Singh from Ludhiana, Harbans Lal (Retd Distt and Sessions Judge), Rattan Lal Chargotra, Puran Chargotra, and HR Chargotra were among others present on the occasion.
