KATHUA, June 28: Basohli police has arrested one lady and recovered stolen items from her.
Police said a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Basohli by one lady Poli Devi wife of Prem Singh of Gagrote Basohli on June 25 pertaining to the theft of jewellery from her house.
On receipt of this information, a case FIR No.47/2022 U/S 454/380/IPC was registered at PS Basohli and investigation started.
A police team of PS Basohli under supervision of SDPO, Basohli Shaziaa Akhter were constituted. The team led by SHO Basohli Inspector, Rajinder Khajuria rounded up a suspect lady namely Rekha Devi wife of Suraj Singh of Gagrote Basohli who upon sustained questioning, confessed her involvement in the theft case and on her disclosure stolen items including one Golden Nath, one Chameli Nath ,one Mangal Suter, two Tikas, eight Gold rings , two pairs of silver Payals . All the ornaments weighed 52.500gms of worth Rs 2,69700.
The police has started further investigation in the matter.
