JAMMU, June 28: Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli laid a naka and intercepted two vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested three persons, who were identified as Latief Mohd, son of Qasim Din of Chaddali Tehsil Dansal District Jammu, Surinder Singh, son of Bhajan Singh of Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu and Tanveer Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman of District Baramulla.
Cases FIR Numbers 161/2022 and 162/2022 under relevant sections have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota during checking intercepted a Kashmir bound truck.
During frisking, police team rescued 10 bovine animals from the truck and arrested two persons, who were identified as Mujamil, son of Mohd Akram of Bitangoo District Kulgam and Abdul Rashid Sher Gojri, son of Abdul Razak of Bijbehera District Anantnag.
A case FIR Number 270/2022 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation set into motion.
Police teams led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma and SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
