16 injured as minibus turns turtle

UDHAMPUR, June 28: Following a road accident, in which 16 passengers were injured when a minibus turned turtle at Majalta near Court Complex District Udhampur, locals held a protest demonstration alleging no medical facilities at PHC Majalta.
The minibus, bearing registration number JK14D-1040, was on its way from Katheel to Manwal when driver lost control over the vehicle, which skidded off the road and turned turtle.
Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to PHC Majalta while five of them were referred to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured persons were identified as Radhay Sham (60), son of Balak Ram of Katheel, Roshan Singh (24) son of Ramesh Singh of Palnoo, Hans Raj (45) son of Jaffa Ram of Sunal, Neha Rani (20) daughter of Brij Paul of Katheel Majalta, Mohan Lal (41) son of Om Parkash of Majalta, Raj Kumar (50) son of Sandoku Ram of Majalta, Sanjay Singh (42) son of Jagdish Singh of Majalta, Ravi Sharma (28) Madan Mohan of Katheel Majalta, Sudesh Kumar (38) son of Shatto Ram of Katheel Majalta, Ranoo Devi, wife of Govind Ram of Katheel Majalta, Brij Paul, son of Govind Ram of Katheel Majalta, Ramesh Chander (64) son of Mani Ram of Majalta, Hans Raj (48) son of Dhani Ram of Plater Majalta, Charan Dass (70) son of Munshi Ram of Majalta, Swarana Devi (60) wife of Shiv Ram of Katheel Majalta and Mahi Bharti, daughter of Ashok Kumar of Katheel Majalta.
Soon after the accident, locals protested against Health Department alleging no proper medical facilities at PHC Majalta. Following the protest, Tehsildar Majalta and DDC Majalta personaly reached the spot and pacified the protesting villagers by assuring necessary action.
