JAMMU, Sept 10: To discuss the certain issues and demands, a meeting of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association was held under the chairmanship of B S Jamwal.
The meet expressed great concern over delay in disbursement of 6th Pay Commission arrears and alleged that the State Finance Department and J&K Bank were earning interest on the due amount of pensioners.
The Association also highlighted the long pending demands, such as enhancement of medical allowance, implementation of mediclaim insurance policy, issuance of senior citizen identity card at par with Kashmir Valley pensioners, etc.
The meet also urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his intervention to ensure redressal of pensioners’ issue.
