Four thieves arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Apr 13: Gandhi Nagar and Nehru Market Police jointly arrested four thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, on April 10 this year a written complaint was received at Police Post Nehru Market from Security Officer of Jammu University regarding theft of 4 AC units and one ambulance silencer from the varsity campus.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 82/2022 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma and assisted by Incharge Police Post Nehru Market SI Rohit Gandhi was constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma.
The team did hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages finally arrested three thieves, who were identified as Vishal Kumar, son of Rakesh Kumar, Salman, son of Anwar and Shubham Sharma, son of Raj Kumar.
On their disclosure, stolen items were recovered from the possession of their associate identified as Alam Ansari, son of Sultan Ansari, who was also arrested.
It is pertinent to mention that accused namely Alam Ansari was also booked under Section 411 IPC.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
