Chhari Mubarak reaches Panchtarni, 6 km short of Holy Cave

SRINAGAR :  ‘Har Har Mahadev, Bam Bam Bolay’ and vedic mantras rented in the air when ‘Chhari Mubarak’, Holy Silver Mace of Lord Shiva reached Panchtarni(4114 mtrs) 6 km short of Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, where the final puja of pilgrimage-2013 will be held tomorrow on the occasion of Raksha Bandan, Sharvan  Purnima.
The Chhari will be taken inside the Holy Cave early in the morning tomorrow, where day-long final puja will be held before starting return journey before dusk.
On the occasion of ‘Chaturdashi’, Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of the Holy Mace, holding the Chhari, left Sheshnag this morning at 0700 hrs to cover 14 kms on foot.
A large number of devotees and sadhus joined the yatra, amid shouting of Bam Bam Bolay and Har Har Mahadev and other vedic mantras when they left Sheshnag.
The Holy Chhari reached Panchtarni this afternoon, where some other yatris joined them.
Mahant Giri said the Chhari Mubarak, will leave at 0400 hrs Panchtarani to cover six-km-long track on foot to reach Holy Cave (3952 mtrs) on the occasion of Raksha Bandan’ Sharvan Purnima.
He said traditional rituals shall be performed and prayers shall be offered the whole day at Holy Cave.
However, before dusk, Chhari-Mubarak shall leave for night halt at Panchtarani.
On the occasion of ‘Pratipda’ on August 22, Chhari-Mubarak shall leave at 0700 hrs for night halt at  Pahalgam.
On August 23 on the occasion of ‘Dvitiya’ ‘Pujan’ & ‘Visarjan’ ceremonies shall be performed at 1015 hrs on the bank of river Lidder.
Thereafter, traditional ‘Kari-Pakouri’ Bhandara shall be organized for Sadhus. With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath Ji shall culminate. Chhari-Mubarak shall return to its Abode at Srinagar. (AGENCIES)
