NEW DELHI : The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned twice till noon due to disruption created by the Samajwadi Party members who were demanding a special state status for Uttar Pradesh.
Soon after the House met for the day and Chairman Hamid Ansari read out obituary references, SP leader Naresh Agarwal raised the issue of special state status for the party-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
He alleged that the Centre was discriminating against Uttar Pradesh. He said there were reports that the Centre is going to give special state status to Bihar and it should also be given to UP.
BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu raised the issue of missing files related to the alleged coal scam.
