Four killed, 18 injured in road mishaps

Srinagar, Aug 11: Four persons died and 18 others were injured in various road mishaps across the Kashmir valley today.
Police said an unidentified motorcycle driven by Juniad Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Amin resident of Khiram hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Gani Nadaf son of Abdul Aziz resident of Takiabal at Takiabal, Anantnag. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said a Swift car bearing registration number JK05B/0017 and motorcycle bearing registration number JK05/2772 collided at Zangam National Highway, Baramulla, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Manzoor Ahmed Teli son of Abdul Ahad resident of Ashpeer, Sopore, Tariq Ahmed Sofi son of Sonaullah and Javaid Ahmed Sofi son of Mohammad Sultan residents of Arampora, Sopore. The injured were shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for treatment. Among injured Tariq Ahmed succumbed to injuries.
Police said an unidentified motorcycle hit and injured a woman, Taja Bano wife of Abdul Hamid Khan resident of Zoogoo, Budgam. The injured was shifted to Public Health Centre, Hardupanzoo for treatment, where she succumbed her injuries.
Police said a Maruti car bearing registration number JK05/4777 fell down from road at Kaltha Batpora, Kupwara, resulting in injuries to the driver Aijaz Ahmed Kahn son of Mohammad Saleem resident of Chanipora, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to Army Hospital, Badamibagh, Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, 16 persons were injured in road accidents across the Kashmir valley.
