JAMMU, Aug 7: The Sikh Community of the State has strongly condemned the action of Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi for taking the initiative of ousting about 50,000 Sikh farmers from Kutch, who had settled themselves over there during Indo-Pak war in 1965, having come from Punjab and Haryana.
In a meeting of various Sikh organisations, held here today under the banner of Bhai Kanahiya Jee Nishkam Seva Society and under the chairmanship of Sudershan Singh Wazir, president, Sikh United Front, the participants said that the entire Sikh Community is very much outraged over the situation created by the Gujarat CM and appealed him not to create the earlier episode of 2002, wherein the Muslim community was severely affected.
They warned the BJP leader to cease his anti-Sikh activities and help in maintaining communal harmony. The participants said that they will leave no stone unturned to protect the rights of the Sikh farmers in the Kutch and if needed, they will come to the roads. If any untoward incident happens the entire responsibility will be of Narendra Modi.
The Sikh leaders threatened that Modi would not be allowed to cross Lakhanpur. They appealed Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal to withdraw from NDA, in the wake of anti Sikh activities of BJP leader, Narendra Modi.
The Sikh Community appealed the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh to intervene into the matter and provide justice to the Sikh farmers.
