2 killed, 8 injured in mishap

JAMMU, Aug 6: Two persons were killed and eight others sustained injuries when a vehicle, they were travelling in, rolled down into a deep nullah at Kashore, about 15 kilometers from Doda city.
The ill-fated Maruti van bearing registration number JK06-5396 was on its way from Doda to Dhara when it met with accident. The driver of the Maruti van was trying to overtake SRTC bus when he lost control over the vehicle.
On getting information about the accident, a police party from nearby police station swung into action and started rescue operation. After hectic efforts, all the injured occupants were brought out of the nullah and rushed to District Hospital Doda where doctors pronounced two of them as brought dead. The condition of injured was stated to be out of danger when reports last came in.
The deceased have been identified as Mulak Raj, son of Hem Lal Bhagat and Kabla Singh, son of Khazan Chand, both the residents of Dhara. The injured are Ankush, son of Mulkh Raj, Jai Singh, son of Gian Chand, Arjun, son of Prem Lal, Namita Shan, daughter of Bal Krishan, Hussain Shah, son of Aziz Din, Prem Lal, son of Ravi Lal, Pooja Devi, wife of Prem Lal and Akhter Hussain, son of Mohd Shafi, all the residents of Dhara Doda.
