BJP despatches relief for Uttarakhand

JAMMU, Aug 6: At the conclusion of the campaign to collect relief in the form of cash and other material for the victims of Uttarakhand tragedy, a simple programme was held at BJP headquarters in which the Party president & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma received the final cheque of total donations received from the region for onward handing over to the Central leadership in Delhi.
On the occasion, Mr Sharma said that Uttarakhand tragedy is a natural calamity which can strike anywhere at any time. It is therefore responsibility of all the citizens to contribute in whatever manner they can for the relief of the victims. BJP was prompt in taking the initiative of collecting relief and the Party High Command in Delhi opened an account by the name Uttarakhand Calamity Relief Fund.
He said that in Jammu & Kashmir the party workers started collection of relief material and cash donations in all the districts last one month and during this period a total of Rs. 7,92,000 cash in addition to one month salary of each BJP MLA and other relief material was collected which is today being despatched to New Delhi.
Leader of legislator Party & National Executive Member Ashok Khajuria, National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, State general secretary Bali Bhagat, State treasurer Chander Mohan Gupta, State spokesperson Lalit Moza , State press secretary Balbir Ram Rattan, State office secretaries Rajinder Sharma and Naresh Dogra, Doda Distt. Prabhari Shakti Parihar, Doda District president Dalip Singh Parihar and Jammu Distt. general secretary Sanjay Baru were present on the occasion.
