Srinagar, Aug 6: Two persons were mauled to death while two others received injuries in different bear attacks across the Valley.
Police said a bear attacked and killed Abdul Sattar Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Watoo, Tangmarg at Kawnar, Gulmarg. The body of deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
Meanwhile, 13 years old Kushboo, daughter of Abdul Hamid Khan, resident of Tangwari, Kreeri was attacked by a leopard at Tangwari and was seriously injured. The injured girl was shifted to Sub District Hospital Kreeri where she succumbed to her injuries.
In another incident, Ghulam Rasool Sheikh son of Abdul Razaq resident of Sutharan, was attacked and critically injured by a bear at Sutharan in Khag. The injured was shifted to JVC Srinagar for treatment.
In another incident, Ghulam Mohammad Magray son of Abdul Gani resident of Keygam was attacked by a bear at his village Kupwara and was critically injured. The injured was shifted to Sub District hospital for treatment.
