Srinagar, Jan 16: Police today said to have arrested 2 notorious drug peddlers in Ganderbal and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Ganderbal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Abdul Majid-JKPS at a checkpoint established at Arampora Crossing intercepted 02 suspicious persons who on seeing the police party tried to escape from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
“They have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Hakak resident of Duderhama and Mir Umer alias Umer Gayas resident of Saloora. During checking, officers were able to recover 20 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 04/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
