Resolutions of ABVP 67th Nat’l Conference elaborated

JAMMU, Dec 30: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)’s J&K unit secretary Mukesh Manhas today elaborated the four resolutions of 67th National Conference which was held recently at Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh from December 24 to 26 wherein 655 delegates as well as 70763 students participated virtually.
It was disclosed by him today by holding a press conference at Vidyarthi Bhavan Amphalla and said that these four resolutions on the different subjects related to education and youth empowerment as well as subjects of national importance.
Under the first resolutions, the ABVP has demanded the Union and UT Governments to resume offline classes in schools, colleges and universities due to the falling standard of education during online teaching. The management of many educational institutions, schools and colleges are collecting full fees, including tuition fees but do not get to utilize campus facilities due to online classes.
The unit welcomed the Government efforts like giving 240 days leave to female researchers as maternity leave in the middle of the research period, starting academic job portal and extension of the period of postdoctoral fellowships to women, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes by six months.
Under the 2nd resolution ‘Present Scenario’, they demanded that the Population Control Act and Uniform Civil Code is the need of the hour and the Government should take early steps regarding them. The ABVP welcomed the initiative taken by the Central Government to increase the age of marriage for women from 18 to 21 years and to give permanent commission to 11 Women Army officers and to link ID card with Aadhar card. ABVP also welcomed the recent decision taken by the J&K Government to name all the educational institutions after the martyred soldiers.
The ABVP demanded sports budget should be increased to encourage sports and also demanded that Government and Private industry should allocate five percent of CSR to sports and finally, the unit secretary said regarding celebration of ‘Tribal Pride Day’ and hailed the announcement of Prime Minister to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as “Tribal Pride Day” across the country.
Others who were present in the press briefing included Ramnik Sharma, joint secretary, Akshi Billowaria, National executive member and Chahat Anand, Jammu Mahanagar secretary.
