JAMMU, Dec 23: Keeping hawks eye over narcotics smugglers, RS Pura Police arrested five drug peddlers including a lady along with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information about peddling of drugs, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
The team did strenuous efforts and finally nabbed five drug peddler including a lady and recovered 80 grams heroin and 250 grams cannabis.
The arrested persons were identified as Kuldeep Raj, son of Baldev Raj, Vijay Kumar, son of Nagar Mal, Tara Devi, wife of Narinder Pal, Janak Raj, son of Nand Lal and Narinder Kumar, son of Sat Paul, all residents of RS Pura District Jammu.
With their arrest, police have saved youth from the menace of drug abuse.
Cases under FIR Numbers 235/2021 and 236/2021 under Section 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act were registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation was set into motion to link the forward and backward channel of this illegal trade.
The overall operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
