JAMMU, Dec 13: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Citizen Forum through its President R K Chadha, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani has sought time-frame for the completion of Metrolite Project in Jammu.
After hearing Advocate Aditya Sharma for the PIL whereas AG DC Raina with AAG Ravinder Gupta for the UT, DB directed Assistant Solicitor General of India Vishal Sharma to seek instructions if Metrolite Project for Jammu city has been approved and the time frame within which the Government proposes to complete the same. “The affidavit shall be filed before December 23, 2021”, the DB directed.
The significant direction has been passed when respondents came up with a stand that there is no such proposal for the construction of the flyover from Shankutla Chowk and that now the city of Jammu is under Smart City Project and there is a Metrolite Project for Jammu city so as to ease out the flow of traffic.
