KATHUA, Dec 11: The border farmers led by Congress party held a protest demonstration at Hiranagar Morh on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway against the notices given to them by the authorities for vacating State land.
The border farmers assembled at Hiranagar Morh and sat on protest dharna against Government. They raised the slogans against the Government action to disqualify them from land rights on State land on which they were cultivate the crops to earn their livelihood. They also took out protest march up to Hiranagar tehsil. The farmers and Congress leader criticized the Government action.
While addressing Ramesh Bali, Subash Chander, Balak Ram and Krishan Chand criticized the Government for doing injustice with poor farmers and people having meager land. They said that the State land is being cultivated by them for last 70 years and the mutation has been registered under Government Act. Instead to gave them full rights on the land they are being dislocated.
In such circumstances hundreds of the poor farmers will be come to footpath. They appealed the Government to withdraw the order and give relief to farmers.
