JAMMU, Nov 10: A protest was held by Team Jagti in the premises of Relief organization against the delaying tactics adopted by some officers in the organization in issuing the EWS certificates there by violating the citizen Charter issued by the organization earlier.
The protest was led by Sunil Pandita and P.L.Thussoo activists of Team Jagti.
The protestors alleged that the files for issuance of EWS certificates have been gathering dust in the office of tehsildar I/C EWS in Relief Organisation since more than six months, viz, a file received in office on 17.06.21 is requiring yet disposal and hundreds of such files are undisposed.
They said in spite of repeated directions by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to the concerned officers to streamline the issuance of these certificates in time bound fixture of 15 days as prescribed in the Citizen Charter, they seem to have turned a deaf ear resulting sufferings to deserving migrants. The Team Jagti warned the officers especially in the EWS Section and urged them to clear the files without any delay and hassle otherwise they will be forced to launch agitation.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner however assured the protestors that he will get the matter streamlined on war footing basis for easing out the problems and sufferings on this account. Bharat Kachroo and T. K. Dhar were among others who participated in the protest.
