JAMMU, July 16: A delegation of All India Kashmiri Hindu Forum (AIKHF) called on former Chief Minister and patron, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammed Sayeed at Summer Capital and discussed the plight of displaced Pandits and their rehabilitation in Kashmir valley with him.
The Forum delegation was led by its chairman, Rattan Lal Bhan while its general secretary, Inder Krishan Mattoo and Youth Wing president, Sanjay Bhan also accompanied him.
Mufti Sayeed after hearing the issues assured the delegation that his party will take all steps to relieve the community from its present problems.
He informed the delegation that during his tenure as Chief Minister he had taken up the issue of the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in Valley with the Union Government but the same has been shelved by the present Government.
He informed the delegation that the return of migrants to the Valley was their right and they have not to ask any one for that. He said the return is not the only question for migrants but steps needed to be taken that how they can lead an honourable and dignified life and earn their livelihood.
The former Chief Minister called for creation of such circumstances so that the migrants are able to return to Valley with a sense of security in their minds.
The problems’ of over-aged youth and PM’s employment package was also discussed by the delegation with Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. It demanded better facilities for the migrant employees appointed in Valley.
The PDP patron assured the migrants that he will take up all these issues with Union Government and leave no stone unturned for rehabilitation of migrants.
Later in the Forum meeting, D N Kissu, Chaman Lal Zutshi, Nana Ji Bhan and Sham Lal Bhat appreciated the initiative.
