JAMMU, Sept 19: J&K Batwal Welfare Association organized a programme at Trimurti Bhawan in village Garhi here today and installed the idol of Guru Gyagi there after performing all the rituals.
Tarlok Motan was the chief guest while Association’s Election Commissioner, R.L Kaith described Guru Gyagi as one of the greatest humanists.
On this occasion Association president, Ramesh Sargotra felicitated eminent persons of Batwal community and also awarded students, wrestlers, others from the community for their achievements.
Among those awarded were Saniya Kaith of Smailpur, she got 94 per cent marks in matriculation examination 2021; Ankit Motan of Garhi for scoring 76 per cent marks in Mechanical Engineering; Janvi Chanjotro of Ghou-Manhassan for qualifying JEE (Main)-2021 with 71 per cent marks; Uday Motan of Bane Chack for breaking Guinness Record by identifying 40 country calling codes in 55 seconds and wrestlers Lovejeet Kaith and Bipin Kaith for bringing laurels.
Association general secretary, Ram Lal Lakhotra conducted proceedings of the programme and prominent among those who attended the programme were Sansar Singh Motan, Dr Ramesh Kumar Kaith, Raghubir Lakhotra, Om Parkash Tugga, Ram Lal Sargotra and others.
