DSS finalises arrangements for celebrating Maharaja’s birthday

JAMMU, Sept 18: The Dogra Sadar Sabha has finalized arrangements for celebrating Samajik Nyaya Divas on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary on 23rd September 2021.
This was disclosed by Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister, and President, Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K, in a statement after a meeting, here today.
He said that decision for celebrating the day was taken in a meeting of the Working Committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha, held along with members of the Coordination Committee of Dogra Sahayata Kendra at Dogra Hall Jammu.
Mr Charak said that Maharaja Hari Singh’s declaration in his coronation speech, to provide Justice to all irrespective of caste, creed or faith, which was subsequently backed by the reforms and the legal framework for social justice introduced by him was a sterling testimony to his people centric ideology and policies which are remembered by the people in all parts of the erstwhile Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir to this day. He further disclosed that the commitment to Social Justice during his rule will be recounted during the function where Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan has consented to be the chief guest.
Charak further informed that a delegation of members of DSS and the civil society will meet the Chief Secretary seeking expedited work on conservation of Mubarak Mandi so that it can be made functional for the celebrations proposed to be held in connection with the 75 years of India’s Independence in 2022. He said that it was also decided to take up other matters pertaining to maintenance and accessibility of Jammu’s memorials like the Balidan Stambh, Raja Jambulochan’s memorial, etc.
The DSS President reiterated the demand for filling up of the vacant posts in the Civil Secretariat, Jammu by posting of officers from the field into the Secretariat to make it fully functional.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting, included Col Karan Singh, Ajay Khajuria, Brig M S Jamwal, Maj Gen Sunita Kapoor, Col Virinder Sahi, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Rajesh Gupta, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Amanat Ali Shah, Janak Khajuria, Adv D S Chauhan, Virinder Kumar Gupta, Chhankar Singh, Raj Kr Sagotra, Narinder Singh Jamwal, S Kulbir Singh, Madan Rangila, Ravi Slathia, Qadir Hussain, Madan Lal Bhagat and Subhash Sharma.
