SRINAGAR, July 4: Chairman National Commission for Minorities (NCM) Wajahat Habib-ullah attended a one-day seminar on “Aspirations of Kashmiri Youth and their Accommodation” organised by J&K Youth Development Forum held at SKICC Srinagar on Thursday.
Habib-ullah while addressing the seminar said that in a democracy there is solution to every problem. “Youth should stand up and deliver as they are the future of the nation. We are at the back of youth and will give every possible opportunity to them to prosper.”
He assured the Kashmiri students studying outside the State that they are safe and secure. “If there is any problem to anybody outside the State they should approach us. I have taken up this issue with Chief Minister and gave assurances to him that Kashmiris will not face any harassment outside the State,” Habib-ullah said.
The NCM Chairman also assured the Kashmiri students that they will be given a due consideration for coaching for civil services in outside State institutes.
Zuhaib Ahmad, a Kashmir University student while highlighting the miseries of Kashmiri youth said that due to the prevailing chaos and confusion, youth have been completed neglected. “Nobody gives ear to the pleas of the youth who have been the worst victim of the present conflict. If people at the helm of affairs are serious to address the problems of the youth, they should without wasting anytime try to accommodate their views,” he said.
The Chairman of the Youth Development Forum Farooq Ganderbali spoke about the activities of the organization in different fields.
At the end of the seminar, a question-answer session was held where the youth freely asked questions from the chief guest.
In reply to advocate Bilal Sultan’s question regarding the reservations in professional colleges for the Kashmiri students, Habib-ullah said, “Due consideration will be given to the demand and matter will be taken up with the concerned quarters.”
