Srinagar, Aug 10 : The Gulmarg Development Authority today kickstarted macadamization of several link roads at famous tourist resort Gulmarg.
The GDA officials informed that they have started the macadamization of several link roads which needed immediate repair. They said Gulmarg has a road network of around 13-kilometers and a majority of links were in dilapidated condition.
“We have kept upgradations of bowl roads, hotel links, and other links in this year’s plan,” Anjum Shafi Wani, Assistant Executive Engineer, Gulmarg Development authority said.
He added up-gradation of the roads was a long pending demand of both locals and hoteliers. “The condition of the hotel links were bad and there was a long pending demand of hoteliers and locals for their macadamization. We will try to cover maximum roads this year. So far, we have covered around 6-kilometers,” he said.
