Two drug peddlers, two bootleggers arrested

JAMMU, Aug 7: Nagrota Police arrested two drug peddlers, while Bus Stand and Pouni Chak Police arrested two bootleggers.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AW-6402.
During checking, police team recovered 90 grams cannabis from the possession of two persons travelling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Bankesh Kumar, son of Birbal Sharma of Bain Bajalta Sidhra District Jammu and Vikey Kumar, son of Narain Dass of Chak Bajalta Sidhra District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 344/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Deepanker Singh laid a naka and apprehended a man along with 55 quarters of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Duwas Ram of Bilaspur Chattisgarh, at present Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 54/2021 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered against the said person at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
However, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by SI Dilawar Kumar under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma laid a naka at Patta Chungi Chowk and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 53 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of these persons and arrested them.
The arrested accused was identified as Shankar Singh, son of Kehar Singh of o Charkali Tehsil Marh District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 216/2021 under Section 48-(A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation initiated.
The arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh, SDPO City Sharad Kalu, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP City Mohita Sharma and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
