REASI, July 14: In a major success, Reasi Police arrested seven drug peddlers and seized narcotics having market price in lakhs of rupees.
Rs 3,36,000 as cash proceeds of drug crime, a fine balance for weighing costliest banned drugs along with other incriminating evidences were also seized by the Police after a series of raids.
Police said that during intervening night of July 12-13, an information through reliable sources was received at Police Station Reasi that most notorious drug peddler of Reasi Shoib Magrey son of Mohd Sagar of Ward number 7, who is involved in sale and purchase of narcotics substance heroin to the younger generation, was in possession of the banned drugs.
Without losing any time, Reasi Police immediately conducted raid on house of the drug peddler and recovered heroin along with Rs 3,36,000 cash (drug money), which was collected by selling of narcotics to the youth of Reasi. An electronic weighing balance, syringes for injecting drugs, foil papers for burning and inhaling smoke of the banned drug and other material used in drug abuse were also recovered from possession of Shoaib Magrey, who was arrested and a case FIR number 144/2021, under section 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi.
During further investigation, accused also revealed about his associates involved in business of selling, purchasing and consumption of narcotics in Reasi town. On his disclosure, Police teams conducted further multiple raids against drug abusers and arrested six more accused, identified as Shahid Magrey son of Mohd Sagar of Ward No. 7 Reasi, Irfan Iqbal son of Mohd Iqbal Wani of Ward No. 7 Reasi, Rufu son of Mohd Iqbal Mir of Ward No. 7 Reasi, Manik Sharma son of Yashpal Sharma of Ward No. 1 Reasi, Arun Sharma son of Parshotam Sharma of Ward No. 3 Reasi and Sajad Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz of Ward No. 8 Reasi.
