JAMMU, June 22: Akhnoor Police arrested a bike lifter.
As per police sources, on May 7 this year, a complaint was lodged by Goverdhan Lal, son of Gushan Ram with Police Station Akhnoor stating that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BC-0259 has been stolen by some unknown person(s) from outside Sohal hospital.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 117/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by PSI Zulfiqar Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar rounded up several persons for questioning and finally arrested the bike lifter, who was identified as Neeraj Sharma, son of Om Parkash Sharma of Badgal Kalan Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement and on his disclosure stolen motorcycle was recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
