SRINAGAR, June 19: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly on Rural Development Department today met under the chairmanship of MLA, Muzaffar Hussain Baig. The Chairman stressed upon the officers of Rural Development Department to improve the functioning of the department.
Legislators, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Abdul Gani Malik, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Ch. Zulfikar Ali and Mohammad Yaseen Shah gave their valuable suggestions to improve the working of the Committee and make it result oriented.
The Committee took a serious note of the fact that the Annual Report of MGNREGA implementations has not been tabled on the floor of the House since its adoption despite clear directions in the relevant act and the concerned Minister which tantamount to the breech of Privilege of the House.
Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department, Farooq Ahmed Peer, Principal Accountant General (AG), Dr. S. C. Pandey, Director General, A&T A.M.M. Jehangir, Director, Rural Development Department, Jammu, Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Director, Rural Development Department, Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmed, Director, Finance Tehsin Mufti, Member Secretary MGNREGA, P.S. Rathore, SE (REW) Kashmir, Tanvir A. Dhar, ACDs from all districts and other senior officer of Rural Development Department, Secretary Legislative Assembly Mohammad Ramzan besides officers of Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
