2nd day of pen-down strike by clerical cadre: Work remains paralyzed

JAMMU, June 19: In all the Government Departments, work remained paralyzed for the second consecutive day of the pen-down strike by ministerial cadre across the State on Wednesday.
Call for the strike was given by Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association for removal of pay anomalies of the cadre in 5th Pay Commission.
Like yesterday, the clerical cadre in all the Government Departments observed complete strike and held protest demonstrations shouting slogans in support of their demand.
In Jammu city, the protesters held a rally from Udyog Bhawan Rail Head Complexes to Divisional Commissioner Office and then submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister.
The rally was addressed by Anil Mehta, Ravi Singh Bhau, Sukhbir Singh, Ravi Kumar, Bashir Malik, Yash Paul Sharma, Ravinder Singh (PLG.), Mohan Lal Kangotra, Hamid Hussain, Anil Kesar, Rajinder Singh, Jaideep Singh, Rohit George, Ram Dass Thapa, J R Sagar, Ravi Razdan, Brijesh Mehta, Avtar Krishan, Lalita Bali, Onkar Chand, Vikas Gupta, Surinder Bakshi, Umar Jan, Yash Paul, Ashok Saini and Swaran Singh.
They condemned the alleged callous and step-motherly attitude of the State Government which was compelling the clerical cadre to come on the road once again.
They appealed the State Government for removal of pay anomalies as already done in favour of other cadres including Section Officers and Statistical Officers.
Reports from other parts of the State said that similar protest demonstrations and rallies were held by the Clerical cadre at the district head quarters in Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, etc.
According to a handout, next course of action by the Association shall be announced after joint meeting of representatives from Jammu, Kashmir and Civil Sectt Union, which is scheduled to be held on June 24 at Srinagar.
