KATHUA June 3: Kathua Police in its action against the consumption/production of illicit liquor in the district today destroyed 18 litres of Lahan in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bani and two persons were arrested in this connection.
Police said a team of PS Bani led by Inspector, Shahnwaz Giri SHO conducted a series of raids in its jurisdictional area wherein intermediate quantity of Lahan was found attended by two persons namely Ajab Singh, son of Parveen Singh of Sitti tehsil Bani district Kathua and Beer Singh son of Des Raj of Halano tehsil Bani district Kathua. During checking police team was able to recover approximately 18 liters of Lahan from both along with few utensils which were seized on spot. Meanwhile, all the recovered consignment of Lahan was destroyed and both of the accused were arrested. In this regard two different cases vide FIR No. 28/2021 and 29/2021 U/S 48(e) Excise Act got registered at PS Bani and further investigation was set into motion.
