JAMMU, May 18: Satwari Police worked out a hit and run case with the arrest of accused.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Satwari that one unknown person was killed after being hit by a tipper bearing JK02CM-2470. The accused driver fled away from the spot.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 139/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Nishant Gupta was constituted. The team after hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area arrested the accused driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Gurmeet Singh, son of Ranjeet Singh of Bijli Farm Tehsil Bilaspur District Rampur Uttar Pradesh.
On his disclosure, the tipper was recovered and seized accordingly.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
