BHADEWAH, May 11: Ladies of Misrata Panchayat held protest and demanded shifting of wine shop.
A large number of ladies from Misrata Panchayat assembled near wine shop at Gathi Morh and held protest.
They demanded shifting of wine shop before opening as they are facing lots of problems.
Kamlesh Ward Member of Misrata Panchayat told EXCELSIOR that drinkers use abusing language and openly use nearby locations as toilets, which is not acceptable to them.
“We are already fighting to shift the wine shop from last few months. We already approached previous DC Doda regarding shifting of wine shop but till now no action was taken by District Administration”, she added.
Kunta Devi, a resident of Panchayat Misrata told media that they want to shift wine shop as school, temple and a medicine shop is near it.
A 80-years-old lady Shanti Devi said that crime rate is increasing due to this wine shop. It is having very negative impact on students and youth, she added.
“Many of our sisters lost their husband just because of this wine shop”, another lady said.
When contacted, ADC Bhaderwah told that he has reported to higher authorities regarding problems being faced by the people due to wine shop at Gathi Morh.
