JAMMU, May 11: Police seized 13 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
As per police sources, police teams from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria, Police Station Nagrota headed led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket and Police Post Pounichak led by SI Dilawar Kumar acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized 13 different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
5 tractor trolleys were seized for illegal mining by RS Pura Police, 2 tippers and 1 dumper by Jhajjar Kotli Police, 4 dumpers by Nagrota Police and 1 tractor trolley by Pounichak Police.
It is pertinent to mention that police team of Police Stations RS Pura, Miran Sahib and Satwari raided the Tawi river bed last month and seized huge machinery used in smuggling and dumping of the mining material.
Around 100 vehicles stand seized in last one and half month in District Jammu.
The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
