JAMMU, May 10: J&K Unit of Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray has urged upon the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to clamp a complete lockdown for 14 days in J&K along with doorstep testing, vaccination and tracking to break the transmission chain of COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press conference here today, Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni said that despite the welcome steps like 24/7 control room, availability of medical kit, medicines, oxygen and beds and increasing lockdown, the pandemic is still wreaking havoc.
He said, main reason for COVID spread is ignoring of some basic precautions and there are reports that COVID positive people are moving out for testing and in this way they come in contact with others thereby spreading the pandemic.
“We should not forget that COVID positive people act as super-spreaders,” Sahni said adding that people and the government will have to give more importance to ‘Jaan Hai Toh Jahan Hai’ in letter and spirit.
Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi and others were also present in the press conference.
