JAMMU, May, 2: A webinar was held here this morning on “COVID-19 crisis in Jammu Province-Intellectuals View Points” by Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP).
The prominent opinion makers on Zoom Webinar were Ashok Sharma and M.R. Qureshi, former Law Makers, Ashwani Sharma, president Press Club, Jammu, Capt (retd) L.K. Sharma, and Usman Salaria, secretary general and general secretary respectively, Nitin Bakshi, president YLA, K.K. Pathan, secretary, AJKKU, Istkar Khan, chairman, PPWF, Kirti Bushan Mahajan ex. president BAR Association Kathua, Abrar Ahmed Khan, secretary SDC, Kr. Baldev Singh, Rachnatamak Samaj, Gourav Salotra chief IT Cell, AJKYF, Sachin Bhatti, president Bar Association Thannamandi, Ch. Sanjay Sandhu, provincial head, IFJP, Kuldeep Raj, social activist, Arjun Sharma, Nakul Sharma, Executive members IFJP, Sheikh Nisar, and Shivan Krishan, social activist.
The Intellectuals viewing situation very grim, demanded use of buildings, community centres alternative for oxygen needed, positive patients in the Webinar.
They resolved and impressed upon the public resource contributions as social groups, NGO’s, individual resourceful persons and institutions, professionals, private, public, trade, religious employees and labour organisations ensuring timely help to the have-nots at this critical juncture.
The Webinar despite being critic to the dispensation resolve to support repeatedly saying “We are with you”, to the Government, appreciating the Sikh brothern for their continuous support to the COVID positive patients and also resolving for, after death requirements voluntarily, where Government had shown helplessness.
They pointed out that despite commitment by the Army to establish 500 bedded infrastructure but in coming week, we, need much more higher requirements of beds, oxygen cylinders and concentrators which can be housed in community halls in different areas (both Government and private) including that of the High Court Complex, Janipur. Some lawyers have offered their allotted lawyer chamber, where at least 2 beds in each room can be adjusted. They also suggested a definite mechanism for travellers entry and enmarking of certain Area Blocks ensuring no outside entries with periodical lock downs to break the chain of spread of COVID.

A resolution was passed to expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Prof. Arshad Ahmed Hamal, a great scholar, former Vice Chancellor and patron IFJP besides R.P. Jamwal and Karanvir Singh.
