SRINAGAR, Apr 16: A delegation of Shri Shri Jagat Amba Sharika Chakreshwar Sanstha led by convener Vishwa Kashmri Samaj (VKS) and Executive member of the Sanstha, Kiran Wattal and Ranjeet Gurkha president of the Sanstha called on Mayor, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Junaid Matoo and apprised him about the land grabbing issue of Hari Parbhat, Devi Anagan, Srinagar by some unscrupulous elements which has generated a lot of resentment among the Kashmiri Hindu Samaj.
The delegation also called on Divisional Commissioner, Srinagar and apprised him of the matter also. The delegation also visited Devi Anagan Hari Parbaht along with the Government officials to take the stock of the situation there.
The delegation, while taking the strong exception to the attempts of the land mafia urged the authorities to curb their activities as they are eyeing to sell the land of the shrine which will not be allowed at any cost.
The delegation also complimented the Mayor, Srinagar for the steps taken by him in renovation of 21 shrines in Srinagar in first phase. It also visited Gulmarg and met the Executive Officer there demanding restoration of temple land there which too belongs to the Sanstha. The delegation demanded opening of Shir temple also.
Prior to this the Sanstha under the leadership of its president, Ranjet Gurkha held a virtual meeting in which the situation created due to land grabbing at Devi Anagan was discussed threadbare and it appealed the community members to launch a decisive battle against such elements.
The special invitees in the virtual meeting included Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu, Raj Kumar Nehru VC, Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana, Prof B L Zutshi, Dr Agnishekhar, convener, PK, Kiran Wattal, convener, VKS and Executive member of the Sanstha.
