JAMMU, Apr 11: Bhaderwah and Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 17 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Bhaderwah intercepted five persons, who were carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and police arrested two of them. Three persons managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
The arrested persons were identified as Sajid Shah and Usman Wani. From their possession, ten bovine animals were rescued.
A case under FIR Number 55/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of Additional SP Bhaderwah Raj Singh Gouria and SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka and intercepted two vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 7 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi of District Kishtwar and Sandeep Choudhary, son of Ghara Ram of Chak Hansa Chakroi RS Pura District Jammu.
Cases under FIR Numbers 134/2021 and 135/2021 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
Police team headed by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Shakeel Ahmed made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
