JAMMU, Mar 24: After successful conduct of annual regular examination of class 10th, 11th and 12th for the session 2020 of Kashmir Division and Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division and that of the Union Territory of Ladakh, followed by successful declaration of results, Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is ready to conduct 3rd phase of the examination in Summer Zone (S/Z) areas of Jammu Province.
This was stated by Prof Veena Pandita Chairperson of JKBOSE in her message to the students. Extending best wishes to the students for their exams, Prof Pandita urged them to devote the available time to the best possible extent to prepare for the ensuing annual examinations.
The JKBOSE Chairperson said that in view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation and challenges thereof, the number of examination centres has been increased to ensure compliance of social distancing norms. In addition to this, she said, JKBOSE has taken various initiatives to facilitate the students amidst the academic disturbance caused due to pandemic.
“To ensure that the academic session is not wasted, adequate concessions have been awarded to ensure that the academic progress smoothly goes on,” she said, adding, a relaxation of 40% has been awarded in the content to be attempted in the question paper besides an open choice in the selection of questions.
She said such concessions have not only ensured timely conduct of examinations in the earlier phases of annual exam 2019-20 but also boosted the moral of the students which resulted in better performance of the students than last year. “Further, the examinations of S/Z areas of Jammu Division which are held normally in the month of February have been postponed to April so that the students get some more time to prepare for their examinations,” she added.
The JKBOSE chairman said the Board has issued a set of instructions to all the exam centres and the SOPs with regard to preventing spread of COVID-19 virus. She appealed all the parents to report to the Superintendent of the concerned Exam Centre in case their ward is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
