Leh, Mar 19: A social activists Syed Mehdi Agha from Drass in Kargil called on Lt. Governor R K Mathur here and projected local issues.
In a representation, Adv. Agha apprised the Lt. Governor of the issues of people of Bhimbet Drass in Kargil district. He demanded medical centres at Dandalthang and Throngoss, upgradation of Medical centre Kaksar and Thasgam to CHC level, upgradartion of schools in Thasgam and Chokiyal, mobile connectivity at Shimshah and Kaksar, development of tourist destinations in Drass, preservation and promotion of Juniper plant and Black Cumin (Kala zeera) and to consider a national level event in Kargil as a tribute to martyrs of 1999 Kargil war. He also put forth the request to the LG to intervene in addressing the wage issue of Watch and Ward Malis of the Ladakh Forest Department.
The Lt. Governor gave assurance to look into the issues mentioned in the memorandum for due consideration.
