RAJOURI, Feb 25: An elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a truck in Rajouri town while two persons were injured in a car accident in Potha area of Dharamsal in Rajouri district today.
A police spokesman while giving details said that 70-year-old Ghulam Fatima, wife of Chandia, resident of Chaprian village was hit by truck No. JK02AG/ 4065 when she was moving along the road at Sheema Chowk near Gujjar Mandi. The truck was moving from Panja Chowk towards Gujjar Mandi when the mishap took place at around 12.30 pm today.
The woman with serious injuries was rushed to GMC Hospital, Rajouri where she succumbed to injuries after some time. The truck driver escaped from the spot. The police seized the truck and registered a case FIR No. 87/2021 against the accused driver.
Meanwhile, two persons, Sukhdev Singh (driver), resident of Kotekabu and Om Parkash, resident of Brehvi village, were injured after their Alto car No. JK11A/6962 met with an accident at Potha Galla in Kalakote area this evening. They were removed to local hospital for first- aid. They were out of danger. Rash driving was said to be the reason behind accident. The police has taken congnizance.
