Disproportionate Assets case registered against clerk

JAMMU, Feb 13: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu has registered Disproportionate Assets case against Computer Operator/Motor Transport (MT) Clerk posted in Police Control Room, Jammu.
“The instant case against accused Charanjeet Singh (son of Mohinder Singh, resident of Salian Tallab, Udhampur, presently residing at Plot Number 73, Sector 7, Roop Nagar Housing Colony, Jammu) was registered on the outcome of a verification conducted into the allegations regarding acquisition/possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income,” an ACB spokesperson said.
He said the verification had revealed that suspect is in possession of assets which includes immovable properties in Udhampur and Jammu and movable properties in the shape of car and other costly electronics gadgets, jewellery etc.
“As the value of the assets found in possession of him and the expenditure incurred by him was found grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income, therefore a case FIR Number 07/2021 was registered against him in police station ACB Jammu,” the spokesperson added.
He said as part of the investigation, searches were conducted at his house in Roop Nagar (Jammu) and Salian Tallab (Udhampur) and during which some incriminating documents were found and seized. Further investigation of the case is going on, he added.
