JAMMU, Feb 8: Financial Literacy Week-2021 for J&K, and Ladakh Union Territories was inaugurated here today by P. Shimrah, Banking Ombudsman and Ombudsman for Digital Transactions, Ajay Kumar Sood; Chief General Manager NABARD, Sandeep Mittal; General Manager RBI, senior officers of RBI and representatives of various banks.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamal P. Patnaik, RBI Regional Director for UTs of J&K and Ladakh said, the initiative will go a long way in helping the intended target group in connecting with banks and take benefits of the government/RBI schemes for the MSME sectors.
Sandeep Mittal, General Manager while welcoming the participants exhorted banks to drive this campaign in mission mode for wider dissemination and deeper reach.
He said that it is RBI’s endeavour to reach out to both prospective and existing customers and all stakeholders are requested to coordinate and make this financial literacy campaign a success.
A handout of RBI stated that as part of the Financial Literacy Week activities, banks have been advised to disseminate information and create awareness among its customers and public on the theme of Financial Literacy Week by displaying posters that have been developed by RBI on their websites, ATMs and digital display boards deployed in their banks.
