SRINAGAR May 19: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Transport Choudhary, Mohammad Ramzan today laid the foundation of Shopping Complex at Handwara. The shopping complex is being constructed by Cooperative Marketing Society at an estimated cost of Rs. 17 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the people of the area would be benefitted with the completion of this shopping complex and get adequate quantity of essentials commodities under the one roof. He said that Government is mulling to open additional 172 new gas agencies in the state for the convenience of the consumers, adding that the opening of these gas agencies would ensure timely and effective distribution and delivery system in far-off and remote areas of the state. He also directed the owners of existing gas agencies for ensuring the home delivery of LPG cylinders by May 30.
Earlier, the Minister also attended a conference organized by Rehbar-i-Taleem teachers at Handwara.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Ramzan said that due to the sincere efforts of teaching community, the state is touching new heights in education sector. He urged upon the teaching community for shouldering their responsibility with obligation while performing their duties.
