Manohar takes stock of people’s problems

JAMMU, Feb1: Former Minister and president DCC Kathua, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma conducted a two day tour of Billawar constituency and took stock of developmental needs and public issues during public meetings held in different areas of the Billawar constituency.
Dr Sharma during his whirlwind tour visited different villages including Billawar, Dungara, Durung, Lakhri, Ramkot, Ladoli, Mela, Sunkhal, and Katli where he participated in many religious and social functions and also interacted with many delegations of local people, senior citizens and youths of the constituency. During interactions people apprised him about the problems faced by them on day to day basis.
People mainly complained about failure of Government in releasing payments of paddy procurement of farmers of different villages of tehsil Billawar for more than three months now. While speaking Manohar assured people that he will raise their issue and also requested the Government to take up the matter on urgent basis and release the pending payments of farmers as they have no other source of livelihood apart from income generated from farming.
Dr. Sharma criticized the misgovernance of BJP Government which has deceived the common masses. He said among all the districts of the J&K, Kathua district has suffered most neglect and step motherly treatment especially on employment front. Adding to this more 62000 daily wagers who have completed more than 10 years in service are waiting for their regularization and pending wages in various departments such as PDD, PWD, Irrigation, Forest, Fisheries and more.
