Pensioners Association demand hike in medical allowance

JAMMU, Jan 31: A meeting of J&K Pensioners Association was held here today under the chairmanship of S. Amrik Singh, former leader of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) in which the long pending demand of pensioners and Government employees regarding hike in medical allowance was discussed.
Association members said that medical allowance should be hiked from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 at par with that of Central Government employees and pensioners. Demand of regularization of daily rated workers working in different Government departments since 1994-95 and release of pending dearness allowance due from January 2020 was also raised in the meeting.
The Association also demanded policy for regularization of daily rated workers and urged upon the J&K LG to look into the demands of pensioners, employees and daily rated workers.
The meeting was attended by former EJAC leaders S. Balwinder Singh, Darshan Lal Sharma, Sudesh Sharma, M.A Rather, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mir, Ashok Kumar, Dev Raj, Chanchal Singh, Pritam Singh Rathore, Narinder Singh Jandraia and others.
